What a weekend! We had sunny skies, upper 60’s and not a raindrop to be seen! Not to mention some really interesting cars that rolled by. You won’t see these on the streets on a regular basis! There were 7 members that went to the car show and what a time we had!! Folks, you are missing one of the very best club events of the year! It is a time that we can park our cars all together and kick back for the weekend. I think that’s why they say “get your kicks on Rt. 66”. The conversations were flowing and the laughs were tummy splitting. I almost had to go to the emergency room for stitches because Rich Hancks made me laugh so hard I nearly split open my side!
  We started in Joliet and traveled down to Springfield in memorial to our former Governor Rod! There are so many “inside jokes” that you just have to be there! Next
year is the clubs 25th anniversary and folks… I want 25 for 25. What does this mean? 25 ICC Camaros for our 25th year. I once again am challenging you to beat the snot out of the yellow School Bus Mustang crew. They had 12 cars! Rumor has it, they have learned of our desire to beat them in numbers, so I have some special initiatives for our club members. Keep an eye out for those coming soon. I personally can say, I had the best time of the year! Come along next year; don’t be left out of a great time!

Boy do the Prete’s know how to throw a picnic!! Our first attempt at Uncle Harry’s Ice Cream Cruise started out as a beautiful day! We enjoyed the BOUNTY of food, company of great friends, and fun yard games. As we piled in our cars to head over to Uncle Harry’s, the threat of rain was imminent. As everyone was enjoying their ice cream…the downpour began! ICC members are always troopers though, and the ‘lil ones enjoyed the puddles, not to mention the beautiful rainbow that emerged after the RAIN. A huge thanks to Dan and Wendy for once again opening their humble abode to us, and being one of the most gracious hosts I know!

Because of that wonderful dirty four letter word, RAIN, we had a second part to Uncle Harry’s Ice Cream Cruise. We arrived at 5:30 and the weather? Absolutely breathes into one’s soul and reminds one that life is full and enriched by a great group of folks that belong to the Illinois Camaro Club! We enjoyed the sunny evening that defines a summer night! The ice cream was plentiful and the company of the cars, music and friends it was a success! Special thanks out to Bill Camp for making the time, and even received a sun burn just to make it! A real trooper! Also HUGE thanks to Rory Smith for organizing this event, again!
