Bruce Bishop 1995 B4C and 1991
Here is a little information about my B4C Camaro. It is one of 305 that were built in 1995 under the B4C order code. Since the car was sold to an individual rather than a police department it was not converted to police specs. There were no holes drilled to mount any lights or modifications of any type made to my car, other than the way that the car was ordered by the original owner from the factory. The car has every factory option on it except traction control and t-tops. That includes a 6 speed manual transmission.
The person that I bought the car from was a member of the Camaro club. He had a friend who works at a Chevy dealer who dealt with the orders for special service vehicles. These are the cars or trucks that are normally ordered by the police or municipalities. The average person can’t go too a Chevy dealer and order a vehicle like this. A person can get one used or if the person doing the ordering for the municipalities refuses the vehicle.
My car is still stock in appearance. Some people say that my car looks very plain. That was the purpose of the B4C option, stealth. A car that is ordered with The B4C code has no exterior markings or badge. It is monochromatic in color. A normal 4th gen Z/28 will have a black painted roof and outside mirrors.
I have done very little to change the outside or inside appearance of the car that cannot be changed back easily. I replaced the stock shifter with a B&M shifter, replaced the yellow and red side markers lens with clear lenses, and installed a skip shift eliminator, power antennae, leather wrapped shift knob and a set of chrome ZR1 wheels. The previous owner had installed a cold air intake and an airfoil in the throttle body.
The best thing about owning this car is that I have all of the documentation that was generated for the production of this car. It is a fully documented car.
